HEFELIAS promises to be a brand that “walks the walk” and is fully transparent with our HEFELIAS family on all the work we have done and all the work we still need to do in order to make a strong and proactive contribution to sustainable representation within the industry.

While we are still very much in the early stages of our journey, we are proud to be part of the sustainable fashion movement and we hope to inspire others to stand with us and join the fight for our planet.

From the very beginning HEFELIAS wanted to make an unwavering commitment to zero waste fashion and lead the way in putting a stop to overproduction. Reducing waste is an initiative close to our hearts and as such all our products are produced in strictly limited quantities. Additionally, we vow to make full use of all the smart methods available to us such as a pre-order and a waitlist system to make sure we aren’t overproducing and are able to grow responsibly while embracing our long term aspirations and values.

At HEFELIAS every single one of our products will be shipped in our branded eco-friendly and recyclable packaging. Everything and we mean every minute detail from our shipping boxes, kraft polymailers to our branded tissue paper is environmentally friendly, compostable and recyclable. We know there is still the urgent conversation around sustainable transportation and we are working furiously behind the scenes and reviewing all options in where we can lead with our efforts to be difference makers.

At HEFELIAS as part of our ambition to be difference makers within the fashion industry we made the conscious decision to use elements of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials in all of our products. We have also gone one step further by investing heavily in vegan eco friendly materials such as Cupro.

All our products that use Cupro lining will be noted within the product description.

What is Cupro?

Cupro is a cotton linter regenerated fabric that has a silky smooth texture, a shiny surface and drapes beautifully. Cupro is vegan, anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic and anti-static. Cupro benefits from being stretchable and uniquely regulates body temperature enhancing comfort.

Why Cupro?

Cupro is biodegradable as it is derived from cotton linter, a by-product of the cotton plant that would have otherwise been discarded if not used.

Cupro also benefits from being a plant-based, vegan and cruelty free fabric which is often labeled as an "eco-friendly alternative to silk".

Lining our products with Cupro fabric and using eco friendly materials where feasible, is part of our bold commitment to combine supreme and elegant pieces that are environmentally focused and reduce avoidable waste.

A commitment that HEFELIAS fiercely embraces.

We are committed to ensuring that we have a reasonable level of oversight and governance over our manufacturer's processes, policies and procedures to verify that they align with our values, culture and ethical practices.

We perform a rigorous review when selecting our manufacturers, which includes assessing their company culture via online meetings and in person factory visits, to fully understand and observe their working conditions, prior to entering into a contract.

All our current manufacturer's primary hubs are based within the UK and we make regular visits to their UK factories to assess their working practices throughout the design lifecycle.

We have also confirmed that their partner factories, based outside of the UK, where our products are made in limited quantities, also uphold the same culture and ethical practices.

As part of HEFELIAS drive to become industry leaders in social, environmental and ethical values we have signed a Charities Act Commercial Participation Agreement via Work For Good to donate 1% of every sale to Women's Aid Charity.

We also fully embrace circular fashion and we encourage all our HEFELIAS family to consider donating or re-selling their items, if they no longer wish to keep their items.

Every item that we don't sell (including sample product) is repaired, recycled or donated.
